Ms Eleni Antoniou

Head of Information Security and Assurance Sector, eu-LISA

Eleni is the Head of Information Security and Assurance sector in the Security Unit of eu-LISA with more than 10 years’ experience in information security and business continuity management, risk management, information security assurance and audits; with a solid knowledge of various information security frameworks.

With her team, they contribute to the implementation of the eu-LISA security and business continuity framework, they ensure the proper management of the risks of the eu-LISA large-scale systems, they contribute in the definition and implementation of a secure architecture and they run the security assurance function in eu-LISA by conducting technical security tests, internal security reviews and security audits to eu-LISA’s contractors and third parties.


Eu-LISA

The European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) was established to provide a long-term solution for the operational management of large-scale IT systems, which are essential instruments in the implementation of the asylum, border management and migration policies of the EU. The Agency currently manages Eurodac, the Schengen Information System (SIS) and the Visa Information System (VIS). Further to these, eu-LISA is developing the Entry/Exit System (EES), the European Travel Information Authorisation System (ETIAS) and the European Criminal Records Information System – Third-Country Nationals (ECRIS-TCN). These systems and the pre-existing ones are being built/adapted to ensure Interoperability – improved access to information stored in EU information systems and identity management at an EU level. The Agency is also in the process of integrating e-CODEX into its portfolio.


German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees – BAMF

The Federal Office is a german federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI). As the centre of excellence for migration and integration in Germany, the Federal Office is not only responsible for processing asylum applications and ensuring refugee protection, but is also a motor for the nationwide promotion of integration. The headquarters of the Federal Office is located in Nuremberg. With its decentralised locations, including branch offices, arrival centres and decision-making centres, it is in direct contact with all players in refugee protection and integration work. Currently, around 8,300 people work at the Federal Office. One third of the employees work at headquarters, two thirds at around 60 locations nationwide.

Kausik Munsi, as the CTO/ currently also as CIO of BAMF (Federal Office for Migration and Refugees) with more than 25 years IT-experiences is known as an innovative IT manager. Before Kausik joined the public administration, he graduated the Master of Engineering at the technical university of Berlin worked as a developer, architect, infrastructure administrator and program manager for serval companies including SAP. In his current management position, he drives the transformation process form the classic IT to a modern IT in based on MultiCloud Mesh, CloudNative, Decentral Identity Management (SSI), AI with real-time data analytic, etc.

Johan is also chairing the Splunk Security SME community group in EMEA.
