Mr Aleksandrs Cepilovs
Capability Building Officer- R&D, eu-LISA
Dr Aleksandrs Cepilovs is a research officer at the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) and a research fellow at Tallinn University of Technology, where he obtained his PhD in Public Administration/Technology Governance. Previously he has worked as a research fellow and project manager at Tallinn University of Technology and was a civil servant in Latvia.
The European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) was established to provide a long-term solution for the operational management of large-scale IT systems, which are essential instruments in the implementation of the asylum, border management and migration policies of the EU. The Agency currently manages Eurodac, the Schengen Information System (SIS) and the Visa Information System (VIS). Further to these, eu-LISA is developing the Entry/Exit System (EES), the European Travel Information Authorisation System (ETIAS) and the European Criminal Records Information System – Third-Country Nationals (ECRIS-TCN). These systems and the pre-existing ones are being built/adapted to ensure Interoperability – improved access to information stored in EU information systems and identity management at an EU level. The Agency is also in the process of integrating e-CODEX into its portfolio.

Yousef has been leading and involved in multiple projects related to endpoint protection deployments, network and DNS protection deployments, users and passwords protection deployments, ISO2700X, GDPR, Vulnerability Assessment, Internal Auditing, and Security Operation Centre technical operations (Managed Security Services).

Νotis Iliopoulos is a Senior Manager for Cyder Security, for NTT Data, Heading the Cyber Security Business for BeNeLux & International Organizations. During his twenty-six years of Information Security experience, he has been in positions of increasing responsibility, in the areas of information security consulting, and serving as a CISO, in Greece, the Balkans, Southeastern Europe and the Middle East. He holds two MSc degrees, in Information Security and in the Management of Business Innovation & Technology. He has also received the professional certifications CISA, CISM & ISO27001 Lead Auditor. Notis has been involved in the initial establishment & operation of six business units, providing information security consulting services, and two corporate information security departments. His professional experience includes implementation of various information security projects in many different critical operational environments. His research interests include Information & Cyber Resilience and Risk Assessment Methods and Techniques. His current research efforts are towards the Convergence of Digital & Physical Security on the Corporate environment & the holistic approach to Security Risk Management.

Angus Hodson is responsible for central government organisations across the UK and Europe. He has been broadly involved in information, intelligence and security for more than 20 years, including 16 years in the British military. Prior to joining Dataminr, Angus was an early employee at a UK based real-time, geospatial Tech Startup whose aim was to index the physical world in real time. As such, his growing interest is in the intersection of the cyber and physical domains.
